History
The Twin Cities is composed of the two biggest cities in the state of Minnesota, Minneapolis and Saint Paul. It has the largest population in the state with Saint Paul being the state capital. Residents of Minnesota that live outside the borders of these cities often refer to it as The Cities. Notwithstanding the name, both of the cities are independent of one another and have distinct territories.
